M-A-R-C: The Martian Armed Resistance Corps by D. R. Spires
D. R. Spires combines science fiction with a very human story in M-A-R-C: The Martian Armed Resistance Corps. Beneath the advanced technology and space travel are familiar questions about power, freedom, and who gets to make important decisions.
Jonathan Tash became the character I paid the most attention to. His involvement with Mars and the M-A-R-C movement takes him into unfamiliar territory, while Iris Shafer adds another strong presence through her role in the resistance.
The time-travel element adds another layer of danger because changing the past could have enormous consequences. I liked how the book makes futuristic technology feel exciting while also showing why it can be dangerous. There is plenty here for science-fiction readers to think about.
Thanks for reading
