1. Tell me something about yourself?
Like most Mallus, I am also based in the Gulf (Dubai) along with my family.
I am a Management Consultant by profession. My field of expertise are banking technology and post-merger integration.
Storytelling is my Ikegai and writing is the byproduct of that. I am lucky to have the time and support to pursue this passion of mine.
2. What is Alumni of the Year about?
Alumni of the Year is a contemporary fiction book that is packed with lots of love, action and drama to keep the readers entertained. Its set in the backdrop of a school reunion and is sure to bring back memories.
The book has been written with a lot of passion, firsthand experience and humor. I am sure you will enjoy reading the book.
3. What prompted you to write the book?
The story is a about family, friendship and faith. All three are close to my heart.
I wrote this book because I believe that this is a story that deserves to be told and is very much applicable in this modern world.
4. What does your family and friends think of your writing?
A writer requires a good support system to be motivated and to tell authentic stories.
For me, my biggest support has been my brother and wife. Three of us have taken ‘Alumni of the Year’ as an ‘Authorpreneurship’ venture. My wife and brother have supported me through all aspects of the book – from editing, cover suggestions to marketing.
My friends also have been an integral part of this journey. Most of the success of the books is attributed to the social media posts and the word of mouth promotions done by my friends.
I could have never reached this stage without the help of my friends and family.
5. What are your future plans?
Currently I am busy with promoting ‘Alumni of the Year’. The book has been doing great and receiving some amazing reviews.
I have already started working on the foundations for my next book. This is going to be a completely different from my previous books. It’s a new age story of entrepreneurship. As part of the research, I am planning to spend time with few real-life entrepreneurs to make the book more authentic.
6. What advice do you have for future writers?
Write what you love writing and most important, keep writing.
Thanks for reading.
