The story revolves around the protagonist Garvanos Scimia, a 23 years old young man. The story sets up in the backdrop of Dresden in May 1848, Garvanos has not wanted to go to Dresdon from his home in Milan. He has joined the royal court theatre. He is a gypsy and his life in Dresdon is not so easy. It is full of struggles. In the Royal Court theatre he meets with his mentor Ivan.

The cover of the book is simple but it could have been better. The title of the book is perfect. The plot of the story is interesting and engaging. It is a perfect blend of history, mystery, drama and fiction. The author has perfectly penned down the struggle of the protagonist that one can easily relate with him. Language used is simple and lucid. Characters are well developed and described by the author. I liked the relationship of Garvanos  with Ivam. Narration is smooth.The flow of the story is well paced. The end of the story is somewhat dense. Overall, an interesting read.
